Dermaplaning

A manual blade exfoliation that removes dead cells and vellus hair from the face, for smoother skin that is more receptive to treatments, with no recovery time.

Dermaplaning

What is dermaplaning?

An exfoliation method that uses a blade (scalpel or beauty spatula) to gently remove dead cells and vellus hair from the face. The skin is smoother, more radiant and better absorbs the products applied afterwards.

What it does for the skin

By removing dead cells, it softens the appearance of fine lines and acne scars, evens out the complexion and improves the penetration of skincare products.

Is it painful?

No. Some clients feel a slight tickling or tingling, without pain.

Does the hair grow back thicker?

No. It is a shave of superficial vellus hair that does not alter the follicle. The bluntly cut tip of the hair may look thicker as it grows back, but the hair then returns to its original appearance.

Which clients is it for?

Most skin types, including sensitive skin or skin prone to redness. It is not advisable in cases of active acne, an inflammatory skin condition, very sensitive skin, cuts or rashes on the face.

How a session unfolds

Cleansing the face, applying a toner, passing the blade to remove dead cells and vellus hair, then moisturiser and sun protection.

Results and maintenance

Texture and radiance improve immediately. To prolong the result, recommend regular moisturising, sun protection and quality home care.

Why add it to your treatment menu

The treatment is non-invasive, with no social downtime, and combines easily with other treatments to create personalised packages. Theoretical and practical training is essential to perform it correctly.

Mistakes to avoid

A blade that is not sharp enough, skin that has not been properly cleansed before the treatment, forgetting moisturiser and sun protection afterwards, or too much pressure that irritates the skin.
