EpilPro MAX: the 4-wavelength diode laser in detail
The EpilPro MAX combines four wavelengths and two firing modes. Its technologies, its specifications and what versatility changes in the treatment room.
Built-in technologies
Four wavelengths: 755 nm for fair skin and fine hair, 808 nm as the versatile benchmark, 940 nm for deep-seated hair, and an Nd:YAG-type wavelength for dark skin. Two modes: HR (single shot) and SHR (scanning with gradual heating). All based on the principle of selective photothermolysis.
Specifications
Total power of 5000 W for 2500 W output, stated energy density up to 280 J/cm²/s, frequency from 1 to 10 Hz, pulses from 0 to 200 ms, cooling down to -25 °C, six interchangeable tips, 50 million shots guaranteed, 15.6-inch HD touchscreen and a screen on the handle.
What versatility changes
A single platform covers a wider range of hair and skin tones. According to the source, effectiveness for hair removal alone remains comparable to a single-wavelength device, session time is similar, maintenance is slightly more demanding, and training is more comprehensive in order to make use of all the modes.
An investment to weigh up
The device represents a larger investment than a single-wavelength laser, offset by its versatility and the ability to treat a more varied clientele.
