Deep cleansing is the first step of any facial. Hydro-microdermabrasion is a worthy replacement for the cleansing milk and exfoliator duo: it precisely extracts impurities, blackheads, comedones and make-up residue, and it has become a fixture in treatment rooms.

Microdermabrasion or hydro-microdermabrasion?

Conventional microdermabrasion exfoliates mechanically using crystals or a diamond tip, without hydration, and can irritate sensitive skin. Hydro-microdermabrasion combines gentle suction, water and concentrated solutions: it hydrates during exfoliation, is less irritating and allows an immediate return to normal activities.

How it works

Suction based on water and microbubbles exfoliates and extracts dead cells, blackheads, comedones and keratin residue from the follicles. These are then hydrated and nourished, and the skin regains its softness and radiance, with no recovery period.

What are the indications?

Wrinkles and fine lines, enlarged pores, dull complexion, pigmentation marks, uneven texture, acne and acne scars, oily or dehydrated skin, as well as the scalp (hair loss, irritation) and stretch marks.

All skin types

The treatment suits all skin types, even sensitive skin, provided the suction and lotions are adapted to the concern. A feeling of pain indicates that the suction is too strong for the thickness of the skin.

Which lotions to choose?

A three-lotion protocol: a detoxifying lotion with glycolic acid to prepare the skin, a purifying lotion with niacinamide to apply to the whole face or locally, then an antioxidant lotion with vitamin C and thioctic acid to protect and restore radiance.

A treatment that prepares for others

Contraindications

Active skin infections, recent or hypertrophic scars, inflamed skin, severe acne, hypersensitive skin (for example during isotretinoin treatment), very thin skin, pregnancy and breastfeeding, recent medical dermabrasion, botulinum toxin or hyaluronic acid injections less than a month old, anticoagulant, corticosteroid or anti-inflammatory treatments, chronic or autoimmune diseases, dermatoses and psoriasis, recent hair transplant.

How a treatment unfolds

Fit the lotion and the collection bottle, set the suction strength and flow rate, then treat with a small tip for the nose, mouth or between the eyebrows and a large one for broader areas. At the end of the treatment, showing the client the collection bottle makes the result tangible.
