Mechanical palper-rouler: how it works and how effective it is
Mechanical palper-rouler reproduces the manual technique of the same name using a motorised head. How it acts on cellulite and circulation, and how to set it.
Definition
Mechanical palper-rouler uses a motorised treatment head that grips the skin and fatty tissue, lifts them and rolls them, as a therapist would in manual palper-rouler. On the BodyPerfect III, the rollers turn at 55 revolutions per minute.
How it works
Three actions combine: suction lifts the skin fold into the head, two rollers roll it, and the weight of the handpiece applies light pressure. The head moves over the area in regular passes.
Intended effects
Mobilisation boosts blood and lymphatic circulation in the area, helps remove excess fluid and loosens the fibrous septa responsible for the dimpled appearance of cellulite. The skin becomes more supple and even.
Setting the session correctly
The main settings are suction strength, speed of passes, duration and number of passes. Too strong a suction or too slow a pass can leave bruises: start gently and increase according to the client's tolerance.
Realistic expectations
Palper-rouler improves the appearance of cellulite and gives a feeling of lightness; it does not make it disappear. The first changes are visible after a few sessions, then regular maintenance preserves the result.
Contraindications
Severe varicose veins, infection or wound on the area, herpes, ongoing cancer. Pregnancy (avoid the abdomen), recent phlebitis and anticoagulant treatment require medical advice.
