Chemical peels

A chemical peel exfoliates the skin using acids. In the treatment room, a superficial peel treats blemishes, pigmentation marks, wrinkles and dullness, with no pain and no social downtime.

Chemical peels

What is a chemical peel?

An acid solution, applied with a brush, exfoliates a more or less thick layer of skin. This controlled exfoliation makes it possible to treat blemishes, pigmentation marks, wrinkles and other signs of ageing, without a device or needle.

Superficial, medium or deep

A superficial peel acts on the outermost layers of the epidermis: this is the one you perform in the treatment room. At most it leaves slight redness that disappears within a few hours or by the next day. The medium peel (TCA), which reaches the superficial dermis, and the deep peel, a true medical procedure under anaesthesia, are reserved for doctors.

Indications

Blemishes, scars, enlarged pores, blackheads and comedones, pigmentation marks, wrinkles and fine lines, dull complexion. The result depends on the depth and the acids used.

Results of a superficial peel

Brighter skin from the session onwards, refined skin texture and tighter pores, softened fine lines, reduced pigmentation marks and blemishes. With quality formulas, the brand states an effect that can last from 6 months to 1 year.

In the treatment room: ready-to-use formulas

Beauty therapists do not use the same concentrations as dermatologists. Professional ranges such as Peel 2.0 nevertheless allow effective, well-tolerated peels, and even zoning: applying different peels to different areas of the face.

Boosting the peel

After the peel, microneedling or electroporation with a concentrated serum enhances penetration of the active ingredients. LED completes the treatment by soothing the skin.

How a session works

Make-up removal and cleansing, listening to expectations and skin diagnosis, choice of formulas, application (possibly different by area), contact time, neutralisation, then a soothing serum and cream. Tingling and redness are normal.

After the treatment

No sun exposure for two weeks, daily sun protection and following the aftercare instructions you give your client. A course of sessions and suitable cosmeceuticals at home prolong the effects.
